El 22 de octubre de 2025, el Ministerio de Defensa Nacional de Turquía confirmó que doce aeronaves de transporte C-130J Super Hercules, adquiridas al Reino Unido, fueron trasladadas a las instalaciones de Marshall Aerospace en Cambridge para iniciar tareas de mantenimiento y modernización. La ejecución técnica se realizará en las plantas de Marshall Aerospace, donde se reemplazarán componentes estructurales críticos, se revisarán los sistemas de propulsión y aviónica, y se aplicarán mejoras en capacidad de carga y rendimiento operativo. Tras la entrega, el mantenimiento de segundo y tercer escalón se efectuará en Turquía, luego de que el personal nacional complete los programas de capacitación previstos en el contrato.
Fuentes del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional turco señalaron que esta modernización permitirá rejuvenecer la flota de transporte táctico compuesta actualmente por seis C-130B y trece C-130E. Los nuevos C-130J complementarán a los Airbus A400M Atlas en misiones de alcance estratégico y de transporte pesado, reforzando la capacidad logística de las Fuerzas Armadas turcas en operaciones nacionales y de la OTAN.
