El 8 de octubre de 2025, el Servicio de Seguridad General de Israel (Shin Bet) y las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) llevaron a cabo una operación conjunta en la que frustraron un intento de contrabando a gran escala de armas avanzadas procedentes de Irán, destinadas a grupos terroristas que operan en Judea y Samaria. El operativo fue resultado de una investigación prolongada que permitió identificar la ruta de transporte y los contactos implicados en la operación.
El cargamento incautado contenía un conjunto de sistemas de armas que, según fuentes israelíes, habrían modificado significativamente el equilibrio operativo en la región. Los datos obtenidos condujeron al descubrimiento del cargamento proveniente de Irán, el cual fue organizado por la Dirección de Operaciones Especiales del Cuerpo de la Guardia Revolucionaria Islámica, dirigida por Javad Ghaffari, y por la unidad de operaciones especiales de la Fuerza Quds, bajo el mando de Asghar Baqeri.
El Shin Bet informó además que, en julio del mismo año, los operativos Qassem Al-Hasini y Mohammad Shaib fueron eliminados en el Líbano. Ambos actuaban bajo la estructura de la Fuerza Quds y estaban implicados en la coordinación de envíos de armamento hacia organizaciones terroristas.
En un comunicado oficial, el Shin Bet y las FDI señalaron que continuarán desarrollando operaciones conjuntas para detectar y neutralizar los intentos iraníes de transferir armas hacia Judea y Samaria, con el objetivo de preservar la seguridad de la población israelí y de sus fuerzas desplegadas en el área.
