Estados Unidos realiza cuarta operación contra cárteles

El 3 de octubre de 2025, el secretario de Defensa de Estados Unidos, Pete Hegseth, anunció un nuevo ataque militar contra una embarcación presuntamente vinculada a narcotraficantes, el cual dejó un saldo de cuatro personas muertas. Este evento es señalado como la cuarta operación letal en el marco de la campaña que la administración Trump ha denominado como “guerra contra los cárteles”.

Según el comunicado oficial del Pentágono, el ataque fue ordenado por el presidente Donald Trump y ejecutado en aguas internacionales cerca de la costa venezolana, en la zona de responsabilidad del Comando Sur de EE. UU. La embarcación habría sido identificada como parte de una red de narcotráfico y vinculada a organizaciones calificados como terroristas según designaciones recientes del gobierno estadounidense.

El anuncio remarca que este ataque forma parte de una escalada en la estrategia militar contra el tráfico ilícito de drogas en el Caribe y frente a las costas de Venezuela, tras otras intervenciones realizadas en septiembre de 2025, que habrían causado al menos 17 muertes previas, elevando el total a 21 víctimas fatales hasta la fecha.

No obstante, el Gobierno de EE. UU. no ha hecho públicas las pruebas que sustentan las acusaciones ni los detalles precisos sobre los objetivos alcanzados, lo que ha generado cuestionamientos sobre la legalidad, la autoría y la legitimidad de estas acciones en el marco del derecho internacional.
